Set limits before you play

Decide on a deposit amount and a time limit before you open a casino account, and use the deposit, loss and session limits in the account settings. Gambling should be paid for from money you can afford to lose, never from savings or credit.

Age rules by province

The legal gambling age is 19 in most of Canada and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.

Self-exclusion

Regulated sites in Ontario must offer self-exclusion from the account menu, and provincial lottery corporations run their own programmes. Offshore casinos usually offer a cool-off period and permanent account closure through customer support; ask for written confirmation when you close an account.
